Laser rosacea treatment is an effective and safe way to help you manage this tricky condition.

Rosacea can be complex to manage, and we have first hand experience in managing the condition. Due to this complexity, rosacea treatments are currently only offered by Rachel, our Clinical Director. She will work with you to tailor the best treatment plan to your skin, taking into account your skin type, your type of condition, and your treatment aims. Is laser rosacea treatment safe?

Yes. Laser is non-invasive and non-ionising so therefore cannot cause malignant changes to the skin. Your safety is our number one priority.

It is important that you do not have a sun tan whilst attending for treatment – sun exposure is the single biggest limiting factor for treatment. For more information regarding this please contact us.

Does laser rosacea treatment hurt?

The simple answer is no, laser rosacea treatment shouldn’t hurt. The main sensation is of a warming of the skin, immediately followed by a slight tightness. The vast majority of our clients do not experience pain during treatment.

How do I know that I’m suitable?

You’ll first need a diagnosis from your GP or dermatologist. Following that, we treat each client on a case-by-case basis, so come and have a conversation with us!

How does laser rosacea treatment work?

The laser is passed over the skin approximately 1cm from the surface, gently warming it, until it reaches 41-42C. The heat from the laser shrinks the blood vessels causing the rosacea until they fade.

How many treatments will I need?

Rosacea is a lifelong condition. At present, there is no known cure.

Therefore, treating rosacea (whether with laser or otherwise) becomes about managing the condition. It cannot prevent the redness associated with rosacea completely; however, the aim is to lessen the redness to a point where you are content with the lack of impact it has on your day-to-day life.

Our clients undergo an initial course of treatment, which typically consists of 4-6 sessions at an interval of 2-4 weeks, following which they will visit us when the rosacea flares. This is different for everyone.

However, it is important to stress that there is no complete cure for rosacea, and every person reacts to a greater or lesser extent with treatment. Rachel will discuss your treatment with you at consultation, to reach a treatment plan that is satisfactory for you.

How long does treatment take?

We generally book out half an hour – the treatment itself generally takes 15-20 minutes, and the additional time allows us to discuss progress and ensure your comfort. If necessary, we will allocate more time for your treatments; Rachel will discuss timings with you during your consultation.

Who can you treat?

Everyone! We are able to treat all types of rosacea for all skin types.

Can I have treatment on the NHS?

At present, we cannot offer laser rosacea treatment on the NHS.

Do you offer a consultation?

Yes! Our consultations are free of charge and no obligation. You must attend for a consultation at least one week prior to your first treatment. Consultation appointments last approximately one hour.
