Laser Pigmented Lesion Removal - Frequently Asked Questions

Is laser pigmented lesion removal safe?
Yes. Laser is non-invasive and non-ionising so therefore cannot cause malignant changes to the skin. Your safety is our number one priority. Our laser safely targets your pigmented lesions without damage to the surrounding skin.

It is important that you do not have a sun tan whilst attending for treatment – sun exposure is the single biggest limiting factor for treatment. For more information regarding this please contact us.
Does laser pigmented lesion removal hurt?
Laser pigmented lesion feels a little like a sting when the laser is initially fired, and the area following will be warm to the touch. Any discomfort felt during treatment usually subsides within a few hours maximum.
Can the laser treat all skin types?
Unfortunately our pigmented lesion treatment is only suitable for Fitzpatrick Skin types I – IV. For more information on this please contact us!
How do I know that I’m suitable?
Everyone is suitable! You’ll need to have your pigmented lesions checked by a GP prior to treatment.

For larger areas of pigmentation please contact us!
Which laser do you use?

We use a Candela GentleMax Pro – please click here for more information.

How does laser pigmented lesion removal work?
The laser targets the melanin within your pigmented lesion whilst effectively ignoring the surrounding skin. The pigmented lesion will scab 4 – 14 days later, leaving fresh pink skin underneath.
How many treatments will I need?
Some of our clients achieve full removal from just 1 treatment, but typically 2-3 treatments are needed for full removal.
How long does treatment take?
Treatment can take just a few minutes depending on how many lesions we are treating in each appointment. We will always book enough time for you to be comfortable and relaxed while achieving your treatment outcomes.
Who can you treat?
Our treatment is suitable for those who do not have a tan, and will be able to avoid/be cautious in the sun for 8 weeks following treatment.
Do you offer a consultation?
